The Senior Project Officer (PMO Lead) role – Cyber will support the delivery of the University’s Cyber Security Enablement and IAM Programs (the Program), a multi-year initiative designed to materially reduce the University’s exposure to cyber security risk through the implementation of technology and business changes. The primary purpose of the PMO Lead – Cyber role is to work closely with the Program’s Leadership and broader program to establish and manage program governance, policies, processes. and controls, program reporting and coordination. 

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Reporting to the Program Director Cyber Security Program
  • Establishing and manage project management control / artifacts, process, and procedures to ensure strong project management culture.
  • Financial management - tracking financial spend and forecasting costs
  • You will embed and drive new ways of working across the program, transforming working practices and driving collaboration to ensure delivery on objective
  • Manage the implementation of an Agile methodology, including processes to ensure ongoing outcomes across Agile activities and ceremonies
  • Work with Program Leadership and broader team to coordinate engagement / meetings.
  • Assist in development of Project reporting at various levels, review status and project hygiene in risk, issues, schedule change management.
  • Establishing and maintaining SharePoint sites and document management.
  • Assist project managers with development and maintaining project schedules and Agile board/ task.
  • Builds, develops, and maintains excellent professional working relationships with university stakeholders to develop trust and confidence in business process improvement initiatives.
  • Works closely with Cyber Security Governance, Operations, and Identity Management teams to communicate progress.

 Skills and experience:

  • Has a strong Project Management mindset
  • Some experience in Cyber Security is recommended
  • Discipline and structured in the way they work.
  • A confident communicator, comfortable engaging with all levels of an organization and actively influencing stakeholders
  • Open for a challenge
  • A collaborative approach, both internally and externally when engaging with peers and leaders of the broader network of councils
  • A growth mindset
  • Experience in using Microsoft project and Jira is strongly recommended.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, and experience with project delivery methodologies and tools, e.g., JIRA, SharePoint, Confluence.
  • Experience working in University / Higher Education sector and/or experience working in a complex, multi-initiative Cyber Security transformational programs would be considered a distinct advantage.
