Why this role matters:

The Business Development Manager – Impact and Partnerships plays a pivotal role within UNSW Business School, responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic executive education partnerships that align with the School’s impact, engagement, and growth objectives.

Working closely with industry stakeholders, this role involves scoping and securing bespoke education opportunities, crafting tailored program proposals, and collaborating with academic staff to ensure offerings are pedagogically sound and commercially viable.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, excellent stakeholder relationship management skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality learning experiences. This role is key to enhancing the School’s industry relevance, building long-term partnerships, and driving innovation in executive education and applied research.

Skills Required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with extensive experience in business development, stakeholder engagement, executive education, or consulting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of securing, developing, and delivering external-facing programs or services in a university, corporate, or professional learning environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with experience engaging credibly with senior executives and academic staff.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare compelling proposals and facilitate productive discussions across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience with budgeting, pricing, and commercial negotiation in the context of education, consulting, or service provision.
  • Familiarity with CRMs, project planning tools, and systems used for coordinating educational delivery.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritise opportunities and align offerings with organisational goals.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects to tight timelines while maintaining quality and professionalism
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
