Position Summary:
As the Academic Offerings Consultant, you will be responsible for the effective operational oversight, development, and support of UNSW’s academic offering processes, policies, systems, and services and sit within the Business School.
The position is required to collaborate across the Education Portfolio on aligned goals to foster a work environment of continuous review and improvement of business practices, operational processes, and service provision to deliver a signature education experience at scale.
The role reports to Manager Academic Programs within Academic Programs Team (Education Portfolio). The role has an indirect reporting line to the Manager, Academic Offerings, within Division of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). The role has no direct reports.
Key responsibilities:
- Review academic proposals within the curriculum management system and support Faculty users with editorial advice, systems, workflows, and approvals.
- Provide detailed expert advice to proposers including thorough interpretation of policy in consultation with the Academic Offerings team (DVCAQ).
- Ensure Faculty systems, procedures, and guidelines align with university academic administration business processes and comply with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Develop and apply a broad understanding of UNSW’s governance framework, academic administration systems, policies, processes, and services, particularly within the area of UNSW’s academic offerings and publishing.
- Deliver effective operational management and support of UNSW’s academic offerings governance, record keeping, and publishing services and systems.
- Provide high-level advice in relation to academic administration systems and services to committees, faculties, schools, academic staff, and the wider University community.
- Provide Faculty feedback on development of university level policies and procedures related to academic administration matters.
- Strategically communicate with stakeholders regarding relevant issues, developments, and initiatives.
Skills and Experience Summary:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, influence and guide staff.
- Highly advanced interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
- Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to plan, organise and co-ordinate projects and tasks.
