Why Your Role Matters:

The Executive Assistant plays a pivotal role, providing high-level executive support to the Pro Vice-Chancellor Research, Professor Dane McCamey.  The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, ensuring the smooth operation of the office and the achievement of strategic objectives of the office with a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail.

You’ll take a proactive approach to problem-solving and actively contribute to a collaborative team environment. The role involves responding to complex enquiries with sound judgement and initiative, applying a high level of technical expertise and discretion when making decisions, includes interpreting and applying UNSW policies and procedures.

Who You Are:

You have relevant EA/PA experience and can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively and professionally with senior leadership and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, exercising sound judgement and discretion.
  • Highly developed organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and professionalism, with a proactive, self-motivated approach that demonstrates initiative and supports continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborative and adaptable team member, able to work effectively with others, remain calm under pressure, and respond positively to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • High-level proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability and willingness to adopt emerging productivity tools (such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT) to deliver efficient, accurate, and contemporary administrative support.
