Why your Role Matters
The Co-op Industry Partnerships Manager is responsible for developing Co-op Sponsor engagement strategy, and securing scholarship funding for Program streams in the fields of Business and Engineering. Together with the Co-op Industry Partner they generate and sustain more than $8M in scholarship and internship funding per annum for one of UNSW’s most unique and highly competitive offerings to undergraduate students.
The role develops & sustains industry sponsor relationships; secures new sponsorship places & new sponsors; supports sponsor/scholar industry experience placements and communicates relevant feedback to the University; ensuring the Program remains the leading Career Development Program (CDL) in the country.
This a fixed term contract until May 2027, reporting to the Head, Co-op. The successful person will share the management of the Industry Partner for Technology & Science and senior Scholar Ambassadors to support & drive key Program initiatives.
Summary of key responsibilities
• Develop and implement industry engagement strategies to grow the Co-op Program in Business and Engineering
• Maintain and build relationships with industry sponsors, managing $8M in annual scholarship funding
• Collaborate with Faculties and Academic Coordinators to support scholar placements and manage student/sponsor issues
• Monitor and evaluate industry partnerships, providing reports on engagement and impact
• Manage sponsor agreements, ensuring compliance with UNSW policies
• Contribute to marketing strategies and professional development workshops
• Support the development of procedures and training materials for Co-op Program initiatives

Who you are
- Demonstrated experience and success in:
− developing and managing partnerships with community, government or industry organisations that generate mutual value for stakeholders
- developing or enhancing university careers development or industry graduate programs
− prioritising workloads in a complex multi-stakeholder environment, working independently and proactively, and meeting deadlines with attention to detail
− developing marketing collateral, brand strategy, and communications channels and content to achieve effective partner engagement
- Ability to function effectively and independently with the capacity to take responsibility, exercise independent judgement and proactively address and resolve complex problems as they arise, and to negotiate and agree outcomes
- Superior interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain effective collaborative professional relationships with internal staff and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated business experience of the industry employment needs and trends of stakeholders in the relevant program streams, including an understanding of desirable graduate skills & capabilities and industry graduate recruitment processes
- Ability to contribute to the strategic development of the Co-op Program and components of the annual Professional Development Program
- Advanced computer literacy and experience working with a range of systems and applications
