About the Role
The Project Officer supports the successful delivery of the Academic Calendar Project by coordinating key activities, deliverables, and communications across the team and stakeholders. The role assists with project planning, tracking, and milestone delivery, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. It also contributes to change and communication initiatives that build awareness and engagement with the new academic calendar.
The position reports to the Academic Calendar Program Director and has no direct reports.
The successful applicant will possess and have experience in:
- Support the coordination and monitoring of project activities and initiatives to facilitate the implementation of the new academic calendar and ensure alignment with project priorities and milestones.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, and documentation, participating in planning processes as required.
- Monitor, track, and report on the progress of academic calendar project deliverables to ensure objectives, timelines, and metrics are met in accordance with approved project plans.
- Provide practical, proactive project support and administrative services to the project team and stakeholders, including preparing project documentation, communications collateral and change management collateral.
- Coordinate project administration, including scheduling and supporting meetings, minute taking, managing assigned actions and follow-ups, and preparing project status reports.
- Develop and manage effective communications and engagement strategies with key stakeholders, both within and outside the university, to facilitate a smooth rollout and adoption of the revised academic calendar.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience working in a project team and in the Education sector is desirable.
- Project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives, and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, and to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives, and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
